Ways to Disappear by Idra Novey
In writing about a character who is an author of magic realist fiction, author Idra Novey creates her own whimsical and enchanting brand of magic realism. In writing about her protagonist, the translator Emma, she shows us the perils and challenges of a life lived in translation, when, possibly, what one truly longs for is the real thing. Ways to Disappear has the playfulness of a seek and find, acute insight into psychological motivation, and a respect for the weightiness of fiction.
