Gardening season will be here soon!
Choosing to use native plants in your garden provides ecological benefits, increases the sustainability of your garden, and creates a sense of place. Using nature as a guide, you can learn to choose the plants that will fit the light, moisture, and soil conditions of your property.
Join Diane Ehrich, owner of Collins Nursery, a retail nursery in Glenside specializing in native plants of the Mid-Atlantic. Diane will present practical ideas about gardening with native plants and how to best integrate them into your garden. She will also share insights from authors such as Doug Tallamy, Rick Darke, William Cullina, Claudia West, Thomas Rainer, and Larry Weaner, all of whom use inspiration and careful observation from nature to write about how to put the ideas of ecological stewardship and an aesthetic based on natural plant communities into practice.
You will have to opportunity to order books that catch your interest.
